If you want a side hustle, there’s no easier way (without leaving your home) than to sell your own knowledge. And that means you need to know how to make money selling your infoproducts.

Last time, I discussed the many forms of infoproducts (or combination of products) you can create. Once you choose your niche and narrow down your topic by knowing your target market’s problems, you’ll decide the type of product you will create.

Product creation is the easy part. (That doesn’t mean there isn’t work involved!) Once you have your product set up, the real work begins: you need to SELL it. I know that many ‘coaches’ will tell you it’s not the case. But when you are just starting out, you don’t have a big audience — if any audience — to sell your infoproduct to. And that’s what you need to work on.

Here are some ideas:

  1. Offer some of your ideas for free. (You can get mine here.) It could be the first chapter of your book, a checklist, a template or worksheet, or a pared-down version of your software. Create an opt-in landing page to gather names.
  2. Set up a sales page specifically for your product. Promote it everywhere including your email signature line and on social media.
  3. Include affiliate links to other people’s products and services in your own digital products. This gives you another source of income from your own product.
  4. Speak at online and traditional events related to your niche to get the word out about your products. If you are well known, you can get paid for speaking, as well.
  5. Give interviews. An interview on news programs or podcasts can be a good way to promote your infoproduct.
  6. Write articles for magazines, blogs, and other content-rich sources. It establishes your credibility and can promote your product at the same time.
  7. Create an affiliate program for others to promote your infoproduct. Create tools for them to make selling your product easier.
  8. Build joint ventures and partnerships with others in your niche. Find others with complementary services or products to partner with.

Whatever route you decide to take when it comes to promoting your infoproduct, the key is to get out there and sell it. Make your plan and take action.
